Dartmoor Leather was founded by Will Harvey, a lifelong resident of Dartmoor driven by a deep passion for craftsmanship.
At seventeen, Will left his family farm and pitched a tent outside John Hagger’s leather workshop in South Devon, where he began his apprenticeship. He lived there for two years and spent another six mastering his craft—refining his skills, creating bespoke pieces, and contributing to the business’s growth.
Since 2010, Will has been handcrafting fine leather goods, from bags, belts, and wallets to notebooks, watch straps, and accessories. He also teaches the full range of leatherworking skills, from stitching and edging to tooling, design, and pattern-making.
Inspired by the rugged beauty of Dartmoor, Will finds joy in every stage of creation—from sketching and cutting to dyeing, stitching, and finishing—bringing each idea to life with dedication and artistry.
